i've had this bike put away for about 10 yrs now & it's about time to finish it! it's pretty well complete, but need a few items like spokes, cables etc. is there anywhere or anyone who has parts for these in the u.s.? one reason i've been dragging my feet is the exchange rate.i have picked up a couple needed parts on ebay cheap (tank , muffler, headlight lens & speedo). i guess because i knew what they were & the seller didn't, so just happened upon them & got lucky. the motor is now rebuilt, traded that out with a guy i paint old harley hummers for, he built the motor & i painted a bike for him. pretty good trade!

Once in every blue moon I'll see parts for these on Ebay, usually mislabelled.

As an additional comment on spokes, make sure that you measure the diameter of the holes in the rim and specify the correct spoke nipple diameter.

Nice motor!

I just bought a "Flea" on ebay. However I think it's miss-listed and is actually an RE2 or Model R.E. It's a 125cc, 1951 reg.

It needs restoration, I'm picking it up Saturday so will know more then, can't wait!

Here are the photos from ebay, looks like an RE2 to me, I'm hoping the registration form etc detail its original colour etc.

I'll post good pictures on Saturday or Sunday depending on when I get back.

I'd like to know what it went for; if you don't mind telling us...?

Or email me privately...?

I'm seriously thinking I would love to restore one of these if I could find one anywhere...

PM sent Geoff

Apparently the bike turns over, has good compression and the engine and tank are clean. The carb needs parts (although Im considering just getting a new one), and it needs a new chain and exhaust (which I think may prove tricky).

Still, I figure our money is fairly useless now they're printing so much of it, may as well invest in something tangible!

Nice one James - that should keep you busy!
Do you reckon you will have her on the road before you get the C5 back  ;) ;)
Cheers
