  Vince,
Since you've"been there, seen that" do you think that there have been
changes in the quality of the electrical connections etc on the UCE
    models ?

Inquiring non-wiring minds want to know !

   Thanks,
   Flint.

I haven't seen the bikes yet, so I can't say for sure. I'll know better later this week when we receive delivery. At the seminar the Indian engineers touted the strides in quality control, and electrical connections were mentioned in this context.
For what it's worth, even now the connectors aren't significantly different than on the Japanese bikes I work on. The issues I run into have to due more with assembly and routing rather than component quality. Part of my pre-delivery inspection is to address these issues. After that I see no more problems than on any other bike I work on. I almost never see the kinds of electrical issues talked about on this forum.
On the new UCI units my service department will follow the same check list and nip any similar problem in the bud.
No mater what bike you get, dealer prep is the key. We really are the last step in the quality control process. Even when I get a late model Japanese bike in the shop I am often amazed at the issues that weren't addressed in the PDI the unit have had.
