As much as I love my Bonneville black, I'll buy the first red C5 I see. That's the first bike that's really got my attention since I sold my old 1940 BSA M20 a few years ago, big singles get in your blood and just stay there don't they?
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Yep.
There's just something about a big single.

I think they said that the red C5 was coming a bit later, but it will get here sometime this year.
The new C5 really seems to be attracting alot of attention!

Yeah - I can't WAIT to see a C-5 in person .... The missus is going to have to get used to one in the garage, too, I think .... hahahaha!! ::) That red is a LOVELY colour, too, from what I've seem from the factory photos. It's sort of like the cranberry colour offered by Jaguar in the 80's - VERY elegant and just slightly understated. Let's keep our fingers crossed that all goes as planned here - and get out to your local dealer to remind them that you need one!!
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

Well, Brothers, I lean toward the red C5, also.  But, I wanna see it LIVE and under the light of the sun to assure myself that it's more reddish than maroonish to make the final call.  As an example, I got very excited with the color of the red Sixty-5 when the first pictures came out in 2004.  The bike, as it turned out, was a disappointing (for my taste) burgundy.  Now, I am quite sure that some of you love this burgundy color; so, I ask you to please not take offense because of my particular taste in colors!   ;)

From the pictures it reminds me of the Amaranth red used on the 1938 Triumph speed twin,  a fine color for a motorcycle in my opinion.  I've rode black mortorcycles for the last 39 years, it's time for a change.

I'm pining for a red C-5 as well and am getting a little frustrated with all this waiting.  It'll be my first RE and will be the perfect complement to it's Ducati stablemate!

I like the black. Looks tougher, like a real hooligan bike, but I hate taking care of black. I also like teal, one of my favorite colars, but the RE is a light teal, too girlish, should have been a dark teal. Guess the red is the winner.

So, what's with the headlight peak on these C5 bikes, anyway?

What's everybody's opinion about that?

I've looked at alot of old Royal Enfield pictures, and I don't see any headlight peaks.

And what is the peak supposed to do?
I think if I got a C5, that headlight peak would have to come off.

Regarding the colors, I actually like all of them.
It seems to depend on the mood I'm in at the time I look at them.
I seem to like the black one the most, but the red looks good too.  I'd have a tough time choosing between the black or the red. And sometimes even the teal looks best to me.

Well I installed the peak on my Classic after installing the 7" headlight. Since there is no adjustment I thought it might help deflect the top of the beam a bit. It also seems to lengthen the front of the bike, which is also to my liking.

I would have had a peak for mine, for the same reason as Blltrdr, if they had had black ones. Anything but chrome.  :(

By headlight "peak", do you also mean the "visor"?

Yes, that's what I mean.
Different term, but I meant the same thing as "visor".

We only have the black C5 over here at present & she looks good in the flesh but will wait & compare when the others arrive. I've heard the green & red look better than the black - but it's all down to pers opinion. I guess I was slightly disapointed for some reason - I think it's the high price tag over here.

You can pick up a new 883 Bonnie for not a lot more so I can't see them selling the same number of EFI units than they have been recently with the AVLs & Irons - I hope I'm proved wrong though!
Cheers
Nick

i have seen all three colors up close and personal. As mentioned it is tough to pick "the best" color. The white that is used is a shade that really compliments the three other colors. I am sort of hung up on the red, but I already have Robin Eggs blue bike and an turquoise bike, so maybe it is time for a change.

Kevin, is the red a reddish or a maroonish color?

I'm leaning heavily toward the Turquoise color. To me, it's screams "Fifties", plus it's the color of my first car...A 57 Chevy Bel Air.

Turquoise is also the color of my Bug. It is a very manly turquoise. It doesn't drip oil, it drips testosterone.

Great pic Cpl Frency, like the motor - yes, turqouisey/blue white looks great in the C5 pics & fits nicely with the 50's theme
