OK guys, its time for me to make reservations at the campground for the RE East Weekend. The date is June 5-7 at Natural Bridge State Park located just about 1/2 hour from  I-64 in the middle of no where in Slade Ky. Two natural arches, lots of beautiful scenery, friendly people, alcohol nearby, and most important...... hundreds of fantastic curvy roads, both fast and slow, and even a mid 1800's railroad tunnel to ride through. So here is the deal.......I will pay all camping fees, provide food for Friday and Saturday night (dogs, burgers, and maybe some of my wifey's mouth waterin' ribs), and have coffee and donuts Saturday and Sunday morning. Your cost is....... nothing.....yep, that is right.......zero.....zip......nada. The only thing you must bring is yourself and your RE and maybe a friend or two. Other brands allowed (especially one cylinder bikes) as long as they are with someone on an Enfield. I need to know about how many of you are coming, so just let me know on this website or email @  dewjantim@msn.com.  Hope all of you can make it.........Dewey.

Dew,
Sounds great ! That $ 5000 will cover the cost of shipping my RE.
In all seriousness sounds like you and your wife are very kind, if I lived closer I would love to meet up and ride that area .
Thanks but sorry I can't make it.

Major Bummer!

As you know I was one of the first to jump on this when first posted several months back

I voted for the end of June as my  daughter's 18 B-Day is the weekend which was finally settled on.

I feel like I have deserted you but I hope you understand my reason.

Hope you guys have a great time and I will catch you next year!

Dewey,

Put me down as coming.  If you don't get enough takers that's okay too.  When you're retired you can be flexible.

God willing, I'll have my bike by then, but there's no guarantees. I don't want to push a fresh bike on a two day trip across highways, even if is a new G5, so i'll have to politely decline this year.

Sign me up. I'll have my G5 and a good excuse to ride her.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it. You can't prove a thing!

I'm going to try to make that meeting.
I'll provide confirmation of that a little later when I'm sure that I can attend.

Thanks Kevin for your kind offer, it is appreciated :). OK guys, I will leave this open for the next couple of weeks and if I don't get at least 10 people to sign up, it will be a no go. Remember, the cost is zero, beautiful scenery and backroads, bring your friends, especially those with thumpers...... so far only three people (including me) are coming. I need seven more........ thanks.

you know, if you make it in late august, i would find it easier to make it down. the timing was a little rough. if we can find a few more who would find august easier, we could get more attendance. i for one would be glad to go to that, especially since it's on the way to school from Jersey.

I have never met another RE owner in person. Sorry it didn,t come together Dew. Looked like a great opportunity. How is Kentucky this time of year?

I did a 100 mile ride a few days ago 53*F(+12*C) and wet , great but cold and all alone.

Doomedone....... it is extremely hot here in August and the bugs are bad also. REpozer.......This is a beautiful time of year in Kentucky. Everything is so green and beautiful with temps in the low to mid 80's. Some rain and usually lots of sunshine. The Red River Gorge is particularly beautiful this time of year. The road through it winds up and down the mountains and snakes through the valleys with the river. A high speed on much of this road would be 40 mph. We usually cruise through at 30-35 in order to take in all the scenery. Don't feel bad about being the only RE rider around. There are three of us here around Ashland, Ky. One is the mechanic where I purchased my bike and the other is an attorney friend of mine (Jeff Tatterson). I saw Jeff on his bike once while having coffee at the local Tim Hortons. I have never seen the mechanic on his, even though he used to ride it to work often. We don't have a dealer anywhere near us. The dealer in Ashland no longer sells RE and Scooter Bob's is closed because Greg went to work for Kevin.  Of course, with an importer like Kevin we can always email in out order and get it in a few days. Hope you get some riding buddies soon. A small band of riders here have old singles (BSA's mostly) and we usually take a couple of rides together each summer. Those BSA 441's sure have a hard time keeping up with my RE........... Happy Thumpin'.....Dewey.
