Gonna do it....I am planning to buy a NEW 2009 Turquiose Bullet. .......Gonna do it. I owned a 2005 Bullet before, but no longer own it - that's another story....My wife always said I looked like a Gorilla on it. I am 6' 2" and 235 lbs. Here's my question: If/when I buy my new one..(Gonna do it), Do you'all think I can get the dealer to somehow modify the handle bars with some kind of riser so that they are positioned higher up for my long arms?

You can either put the pre-6/99 bars on it or a set of dog-bone risers. Either will raise the bars up for ya.

+1 for what I believe is the first true UCE modification thread I have seen on the forum.

120r, do you have an image of (or a link for) these bars?

Here's a link to the bars in CMW's store,
http://store.royalenfieldusa.com/oem-early-years-4-speed-handlebars

And here's a pic of my 99 with those bars. You can almost see em :)

I'm tall too and to me these are some of the most comfortable bars I think I had on any bike.
I liked em so much I got some for my Trump and am going to get a set for my 01.

Mike Baird (baird4444) has a set of dog bones on his bike. There might be some pics of them in the Photo Gallery.

There is a company in MN , Roxspeed,  http://www.roxspeedfx.com/  that sells a lot of different risers, some vibration damping, that will work fine on the Enfield, with its "unconventional" clamping arrangement.

I put a set on mine, and they work well.  Of course, if you go too far up and back, cable issues can come into play, as they can with any bar change. Also, if you get Roxpeed's stuff, notice that some of them change from 7/8 to 1 inch, so make sure you get the 7/8 to 7/8 risers, so they work with the RE's bars.

You might be able to see these on the pics of my bike and hack.
