Well I went into work this morning and got quite a surprise when my boss told me to pack my bags because I'm going to England for 2 WEEKS!!!!!! It seems I was selected for some sort of exchange program with their army.

I have no clue what I'll be doing but it's probably the only chance I'll ever get to go to the land of my ancestors so why not.

I'm hoping to take lots of pictures!!!!!!

Any body ever been to Warcop??? It's way up north I guess. Are there any good bars there?

Pubs, not bars, and they're all good. The older and more quaint they are, the better. Lived over there for a few years back in the 70s and 80s.

It is a training area, in one of the major pretty places in Britain..  There are a number of old towns round the area, with very good, ancient pubs still standing.  I haven't been there for about 20 years, so it may have changed a bit since I went there - it will probably rain a lot, and be misty.

Adam - Warcop is in Cumbria, an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It's 40 miles from the Scottish border.  You may not understand what the local people are saying!

See here for details of the Army's presence there:
