I understand that the RE Classic is not a bike for the highway, yet if I need to get on the highway for say 1 to 2 miles can I do this.  Also if I ride the back roads that have a long stretch of flat road, can I ride the bike at a constant speed of 40-50 mph?  With out causing damage to the bike?   I look forward to your opinions.

Today 32*F an clear,tonight 18*F and clear,not bad.

Went for a 10-15 mile ride today came home early, some of the roads have ice in the shady parts. Probaby not smart to be on with a 2-wheeler.

Pozer, you are a brave man!!! ("Today 32*F an clear, tonight 18*F and clear, not bad.  Went for a 10-15 mile ride today came home early, some of the roads have ice in the shady parts. Probaby not smart to be on with a 2-wheeler.")

I could not do what you did... then again, I'm 20 years your senior!

Enjoy the ride!

You are kind!! I don't think most people would call that brave. I haven't rode much in the last 2 months ,most of the ice melted off the road , I couldn't resist ( cabin fever maybe) I got a little way from home and decided to come back .The area I wanted to ride though was dark and shady with a heavy frost on them, it would have been a matter of time before I hit some black ice. I got it out of my system for now.
