The one thing I don't like is that the Bullet always had way to much "air" between the top of the tire and rear fender. Now with the smaller 18" tire it has a lot of "air" between the tire and back of the fender. It kinda reminds me of a 4 wheel drive truck with lift kit, running car tires. I am hoping they will replace the fender with something that fits the 18" tire a lot better.   Hutch

Hi guys,

will try and get some pics on soon!
Anyway I have done 250 miles so far,and the bike is performing beautifully.
My friend Gary on his Honda 1800 vtx and I went for a long ride today, about four hours down into deepest darkest cornwall.

I must say the RE is a very stable bike to ride, and those avon tyres just grip wet and greasy roads no problem at all.
Cornwall like Devon is just full of rolling hills, and the RE just eats the hills as the bike is very torquey and loud with it.I just love the sound of the bike.

I have found the seat very comfortable and would be quite happy to sit on it all day and is much more  comfortable than my Honda is.
The only fault I can find is the mirrors,as all I can see is my shoulders,I think I might get some bar end mirors,as I quite like the look of them, and will suit the bike.

Anybody else on this site with an EFI who can add their own opinion on how they have found the bike?as I think somebody who has had both the old and the EFI would be able to give a comparison that I cannot?

Mark , to my knowledge you are the first owner of and EFI RE, to the forum.( if someone else ,sorry, chime in)
The EFI machines haven't hit the States yet. Also I don't believe CMW will allow a dealer to sell the new RE's with out some Tech training (  that might weed out some  dealers).
So enjoy, and  please keep us posted .

hi guys ,

have put a couple of pics on in the gallery.
Unfortunatly my camera is too good for what can be sent,so size and quality had to be reduced.

Hi guys,

Yes I'm still smiling  ;D.

I'm about to go for a ride across dartmoor shortly ,then do a little posing around plymouth city center.

I will put some pics on later.

Anyway I must go and put my steve mcqueen jacket on and look for some barb wire fences to jump. ;)

Is this the "Barb Wire" that you plan on "jumping"? ;D

You see, Ace, that's exactly was I was trying to tell Mark in an earlier posting about broadening his barbwire jumping goals and objectives!  ;)

yes very funny guys!

but I prefer Sharon Stone as she is welcome to straddle markyboys Royal Enfield and go for a  long throbing ride in limesville on an EFI .

I doubt she would go with anyone who only has an ordinary Royal Enfield he he  ;D ::)

Hi  Hutch,

Gary Eastman is a friend of mine,I have quite a few jacket's that he made me,some a2s,and the german Hartman jackets, they will go well with the bike in the summer.
The jacket i'm going to have is the american anj4,it is the ultimate of sheepskin flying jackets.

I spoke to Gary last week and was very intrigued about  the Enfield as he did'nt realise they still made them, plus I suspect he will do some research to see if there is a  jacket that was favoured by bulleteers or bikers of different eras  and if there is who knows!.
But i will press him for some answers.

hi Bill,
yes will keep updating info on bike ;) cos it's just superb!

I know Gary has made the jackets for the film the dam busters(Barns wallace and his bouncing bomb) so will there be any royal enfields in it ??

Mark,

Belstaff Trialmaster and Barbour International; the jackets most preferred by motorcyclist in the 40s, 50s, and 60s and what I use today.  In the photo is me in my Belstaff Trialmaster.
