Thanks Lonely. Great photos. Those bikes are great looking. I'm still glad I bought my 2007 500 Bullet Classic (iron engine), and hope to ride it for a long time.
Also, I like your forum very much, and drop by fairly often.

Take care. Jon in Puyallup, Wa.

Here is a link to more photos from the NEC-UK.  I pulled it off of the Yahoo Group Bullet Mania, they are a friendly bunch (with one exception) and I'm sure they wouldn't mind.  These are some close up shots that I've not seen any place else.

Hi repozer,

Yes I will let everyone know how the bike is performing.
I live right by Dartmoor national park, the roads across dartmoor will suit the bullet perfectly, plus fabulous scenary!

Are there any bulleters on here from plymouth?
Perhaps an organised ride across the moors!
I want to be leader of the pack though ha ha.

Hi guys,

I picked  up my bullet efi on satuday, the dealer got it ready a couple of days early.
what a nice chap.

Well all I can say is the bike is awsome,it sounds absolutely beautiful, infact a friend of mine who has a Honda 1800 was absolutely impressed by the sound.he said " I just never expected it to sound like that".

I cant give a comparison to the older bullets,as I have not ridden one ,but the ride on the efi is just fantastic.

Riding back to plymouth,I had several people driving past beeping their horns and giving the thumbs up-obviously bullet lovers.

the bike is  without doubt a real head turner.

It sounds like something  out of  the 50s the 2000 and fifties.

Yes I'm still smiling  ;D.

I'm about to go for a ride across dartmoor shortly ,then do a little posing around plymouth city center.

I will put some pics on later.

Anyway I must go and put my steve mcqueen jacket on and look for some barb wire fences to jump. ;)

The one thing I don't like is that the Bullet always had way to much "air" between the top of the tire and rear fender. Now with the smaller 18" tire it has a lot of "air" between the tire and back of the fender. It kinda reminds me of a 4 wheel drive truck with lift kit, running car tires. I am hoping they will replace the fender with something that fits the 18" tire a lot better.   Hutch

Hi guys,

will try and get some pics on soon!
Anyway I have done 250 miles so far,and the bike is performing beautifully.
My friend Gary on his Honda 1800 vtx and I went for a long ride today, about four hours down into deepest darkest cornwall.

I must say the RE is a very stable bike to ride, and those avon tyres just grip wet and greasy roads no problem at all.
Cornwall like Devon is just full of rolling hills, and the RE just eats the hills as the bike is very torquey and loud with it.I just love the sound of the bike.

I have found the seat very comfortable and would be quite happy to sit on it all day and is much more  comfortable than my Honda is.
The only fault I can find is the mirrors,as all I can see is my shoulders,I think I might get some bar end mirors,as I quite like the look of them, and will suit the bike.

Anybody else on this site with an EFI who can add their own opinion on how they have found the bike?as I think somebody who has had both the old and the EFI would be able to give a comparison that I cannot?

Mark , to my knowledge you are the first owner of and EFI RE, to the forum.( if someone else ,sorry, chime in)
The EFI machines haven't hit the States yet. Also I don't believe CMW will allow a dealer to sell the new RE's with out some Tech training (  that might weed out some  dealers).
So enjoy, and  please keep us posted .

Hi  Hutch,

Gary Eastman is a friend of mine,I have quite a few jacket's that he made me,some a2s,and the german Hartman jackets, they will go well with the bike in the summer.
The jacket i'm going to have is the american anj4,it is the ultimate of sheepskin flying jackets.

I spoke to Gary last week and was very intrigued about  the Enfield as he did'nt realise they still made them, plus I suspect he will do some research to see if there is a  jacket that was favoured by bulleteers or bikers of different eras  and if there is who knows!.
But i will press him for some answers.

hi Bill,
yes will keep updating info on bike ;) cos it's just superb!

Hi guys,

Well 600 plus miles on the clock, and the efi rides like a dream, with no problems at all.
The bike starts first time every time,so in my book a reliable bike.

I have ignored all the running in instructions from various sources except from an old boy who has been building and servicing Brit bikes for fifety plus years.

He says all this thirty and forty mile an hour riding for several hundred miles is nonsense.
This does nothing at all.

He told me that every time I go out for a ride on the motorway to ease the bike up five miles an hour more than last time and hold it for a minute before easing off(Last time I went up to eighty) because if you don't the bike will never reach it's potential, its like physical training, you have to push it to improve it. And if I do this the bike should have no problems cruising at 80 to 85mph or better.

Well I believe this to be true as the bikes cruising speed is increasing all the time whilst at the same time working less hard.

Royal Enfield bullet the king of cool bikes. ;)

Hi guys,

update took the bike to 85 about 20 minutes ago and the bike loves it,there is still plenty of throttle left.

I am sure this bike will be capable of 100mph plus.

Mark,
Please do a check of your speedo accuracy with a GPS or a radar gun.
It is known that the Royal Enfield speedos typically read about 10% fast.

I'm happy for your enjoyment, but I think the speedo might be reading a bit high. Almost everyone else's does.

Hi,

yes I realise the speedo may ten % off but it will still be a  90 plus bike, which is 20mph over the national UK speed limit.

Anyway is a radar gun as fast as speeding bullet?lol ;)

That's because there was nothing else available then other than a leather.
I bought my first trailmaster in 1974 at a cost of £30 now a days you can add another 0 on the end of that.
I foolishly put it in the bin a few months ago after it sat in the loft for years now I see they go for funny money on eBay.
Guess who's kicking themselves now?

Wow! I really liked the shot of the UCE with the sidecar, who makes it?  From what is showing it looks completely different from any of the Cozy's.
By the way, I'm new to the forum and have a 2001 Classic that I dearly love. I've been riding for many years and own multiple bikes, worked as a bike mechanic for 10 years but now teach at the local vocational school. Our next bike purchase is going to be a sidecar rig as my wife would rather ride in a chair than on the back.  I've been looking at Urals but an older Guzzi with a car would work well also. Not an easy decision as we live in Kansas and I would like to be able to ride on the unimproved roads as well as the paved ones.

Bill - the sidecar in the picture is made by Watsonion Squires - they are the official importers of RE into the UK. They should look good, they have been making sidecars for nearly 100 years  ;D
