Looking at some of the posts on the Classics Models Forum it seems their having some problems with their E/Starters, would this problem also apply to the AVL electric start models also? I have a 2008 AVL Classic.

My Sprag fragged on a stall on low tickover.

Is no one safe?

I just ordered a complimentary  starter resister from CMW, after I install it I will have more to say. Hope it preserves my sprag.

Just to confirm.....is what you are refering to as a Starter Resistor the device that prevents ignition for 2  seconds or so thus ensuring that the engine is spun up correctly?

Hey Scotty! ;D
Try this to make you beauty fire quicker.
If it's got stock jetting, zip out the idle mixture screw 3/4 turn, raise your needle 1 clip, (put the "E" clip 1 lower to the point).
Run a grade lighter oil, to make it spin easier.
A motor needs more fuel when it's ccccooooolllllddd to fire, and run good.
Pull the compression release in and with the key off, kick 4-5 times to get everything moving, (remember the pictures of the WW2 ground mechanics turning the props on the planes by hand to get everything spinning)?
Think of it as a "pleasant warming experience" rather than a !#%$&^*&&^%%$$@%!!! in the arse! :D
I also don't put all my "layers on" until I get my scoot fired. This way it warms up whilst I'm dressing, and I don't work up a sweat going through the drill!
Just an old guys thoughts.
