I'm from San Leon ,Texas  south of Houston. Home of oyster boats ,shrimpers, and retired people. and white trash. Most people visit here for the  bars. One of the few places a person can live near the water inexpensively. Oh and San Leon dress shoes are white plastic rain boots.

I've lived in beautiful south Devon since 1987. Came for a month, never went back.
I originate in London but have lived in a lot of places since. But this is the longest I ever lived anywhere, and it's home. Deep roots here now, I doubt I'll ever leave except horizontally when my turn comes.
A tiny house on a small farm, run down, old cowman's cottage, which I pay low rent for. Green hills behind and a wide valley in front. Spectacular moon and sun rises especially in autumn. Not far from the sea, not far from the moor, three miles from my favourite town in the world.
And now with a fine motorbike in the garage. Nothing is wrong. :)

Originally from east Tennessee,(1st 20 years) lived in Texas 2 + years, back to Tennessee(1 year) now in north Alabama, fixing to move again - -BIG move- -report later.  Absolutely loved everything about Texas, we were in and around Ft. Worth. Thought I had went to heaven, the stores were open late, weekends, some all night, made lots of money, people were friendly, weather was good, racing was good, cars and bikes everywhere!!  All my places have good points, so far tho', Texas was the best.

Originally from Sussex England, now in Highland Michigan, approximately 50 smiles North west of Detroit. I have to admit that the roads around here don't hold a candle to Devon, anywhere in the Ozarks etc, but they have their charms.

If you ever see a 95 Military thumping around Highland it's my old bike with a guy named Don on it.

I live in Asheville North Carolina, and work in the Land That Time Forgot; Weaverville.
It's about 2500 +/- feet elevation, but you can get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and be up over 6K feet easy.  The Parkway is a road that goes about 500 miles from North to South through the mountains. The Parkway is a national park- the most visted one, too.

This area used to be famous for stills and running bootleg liquor- which is how stockcar racing started.  This is also home to many mills that are now gone, and tobacco farms.  Tobacco because you can get a good crop in a small area- no big flat acres in the mountains.

Now, the area is either banking or tourism.  Lots of hiking, biking, rock climbing, and rafting is really big.  This whole area is also jam-packed with great crafts on a professional level.  Pottery is big, for instance.

Great country to own a Royal Enfield.  Very colorfull falls, not too hot (usually) summers.  Winding roads with great views everywhere.
