A good example of low miles trade in:
Old bloke gets a 500 Bullet given to him as a retirement gift in November 2001 (whethwer he wanted it or not!!), gets it home, cant start it, does mange to do 29 miles in a year (had 20 on the clock on delivery), road tax runs out, stands it in his garage for the next 6 years, sells it to a dealer in July 2008.
Rider did not understand R.E's in the first place, biggest fault was the component between the handlebars and the rear wheel, nothing to do with the bike.
When I got the bike it had a few problems due to standing so long, namely the coil deteriorated, but once I got that sorted, I have no problems, thanks also to the help and encouragement from the guys on this forum.
Upto 1200 kms now, the gearbox has loosened off, and I hav'nt enjoyed riding so much for years, I have been through enough, my last bike was an Aprilia RST 1000.
Providing you keep it maintained, you can weald a spanner, and with this forums help, you will have no problems.
Parts are cheap, easy to come by, usually obtained very quick too, so little VOR.
IMybiggest 2 regrets are not getting one years ago, and getting this one so near to the winter, but I look forward to next summer.
