I'm ready to do my run-in maintenance. Is there a need to adjust the preload on the hydraulic lifters? Nothing sounds off but wondering if they should be adjusted after the run-in period.

What am I missing?  How do you adjust preload on hydraulic lifters?  Thanks.

There is nothing in the valve train to adjust so, ride and enjoy.

I've set the lifter pre-load godonlyknows how many times while setting the valve timing on shovelheads. What kind of lifters do the new Enfields have.

       (I know I know  :) :) :) Look it up!)
RI USA '08 Black AVL Classic.9.8:1 ACEhead/manifold/canister. TM32/Open bottle/hot tube removed. Pertronix Coil. Fed mandates removed. Gr.TCI. Bobber seat. Battery in right side case. Decomp&all doodads removed. '30s Lucas taillight/7" visored headlight. Much blackout & wire/electrical upgrades.

The UCE, including GT, have what appears to be Delphi(or similar) hydraulic lifters with a .750" wheel.
Preload should be about .020".

Unfortunately, there are no adjusters provided. The only ways would be changing pushrods length or shaving the barrel.

However, on our Ace GT Billet head, we do provide adjusters on our roller rockers, so they could be set correctly with our heads.

Awesome. Thanks everyone.
I felt silly asking without just looking up the info myself but then again I think that's what makes this forum so good.????. I've never had a bike with hydraulic lifers before. It'll be odd not having to adjust every 3000 miles lol.

This pair of adjustable roller rockers are going into the Fireball Head this week.
If you want a pair of these, buy a Fireball! You and your GT will love them.
Cheers,

Guaire is handling sales, so please contact him for details.

The rockers are part of the Ace Billet GT Head, and are not for use on a stock Enfield head. The entire head is an upgrade replacement to be installed in place of the OEM head. There are many improvements in the new design, the roller rockers being just one of them.
