I think I've come up with a fix for the short springs in the horn of the Lysette seat: I took about a three inch length of coathanger wire, bent a tight hook in one end. I dropped the straight end of the wire through the short spring so that the hook folded over the main part of the spring at the end by the unbroken hook of the spring. The straight end protruded by the broken end. I then bent this end of the wire about 1/2 to 5/8 inches out, recreating the original bend of the spring. (With me so far?!) The tension on the spring will hold the hook on the spring, and keep it all in place. That hook will also keep the wire from passing through the spring. Be sure to cut off the broken end of the spring, and file it smooth.
However, keep in mind, our host will supply new springs, free of charge. I just like being able to fix it myself.

Good job...there's no substitute for self-reliance.
