My dealer, Locomotion Powersports, in Mahwah, NJ, just sent me an email and pics of the new bikes that arrived today.
Of course, I put a deposit on a 1991 BMW K75 today.........bad timing.

Sold my 1991 K75 months ago and wonder why. A fine machine in every way once I replaced the main seal. Enjoy yours!

Thanks Stanley, any advice you can give me? This one has 21k miles and is in fine shape, supposedly. I will see it and try to get a test ride in on Monday, when it will be 20 degrees. And it is a K75S with the under fairing as well as the normal one with the small shield.

I used to have one too. What a nice motorbike. Don't leave it sitting for too long on the sidestand. If you do, you'll find out why not...
I got rid of it because it was too civilised.

Mine was a red S model with standard leather Corbin seat. I found just three typical-for-this bike issues.
There was a small oil leak from a $1.09 o-ring at the mainshaft that weeped oil from the bellhousing. After a few years I replaced it and the mainseal while I had the entire drivetrain out. Took a 3 day weekend. An intermittent stall was solved by cleaning all the connectors with spray cleaner. The driveshaft splines were a little worn. I replaced the $300 shaft and maintained it with Honda Moly Paste instead of the Vaseline-like stuff BMW specifies. It's simple to do whenever you change rear tires.
Other than those issues the bike was reliable, smooth and quiet and fit my 6/5 height better than any bike ever did.
Like most older BMWs, parts and info are easy to find.

Gizzo, I sold mine because it was too civilized. My Iron Barrel is the antidote for that.

Nice bike. I sometimes had the rear brake grab a bit and wondered if ABS was the cure.
I just stayed off the pedal.

My 94 has ABS. It's part of why I got the K75.

Here is a photo of my 1991 K100RS 4V.  I rode it for 65K miles before trading it in on my current 2002 Yamaha FZ1.  The only problem that I had with my K-bike was a broken Paralever front U-joint, that wiped out the inside of the swing arm and the right side bearing. This happened at 48K miles. $1200 later it was fixed.

One Continental GT Twin has arrived in Seattle!  :) Rumor has it we were supposed to get an Interceptor as well, but a "journalist" wiped it out!  :'(

I was told no test rides until more come in, could be a while... ???

CGT really looked great in person. Now if I could just see an orange or Chrome Interceptor.  8)

That is interesting Narada........the first bikes in are supposed to be the ones that are there for test rides! Are they just going to sit there and look at it? I swear that most Royal Enfield dealer really don't WANT to sell the bikes and only want to step clients up to the more expensive brands that they sell, Triumph, Indian, or whatever. They treat them as an afterthought at best. And now the 650 twins are a THREAT to Triumph Street Twin sales. Going to be interesting how Royal Enfield approaches USA distribution in the next couple of years. They don't quite have enough models to have their own RE stores (yet), and they don't have a dealer network that is very supportive.

This isn't just RE's policy.
When the Indian Scout appeared at dealers, i visited three times just to SIT on one and was refused. Luckily my Lexus gave up the ghost and my money went into a car. Now they'd probably love me to stop by!
