You gotta give BMW credit for finding the one F850GS model in the U.S. that came with loose connecting rods.  :o

BMW is now having all of their new F750/850 models manufactured by the Chinese company Loncin, having switched from Rotax, who built all of the previous F800-series models.   :(

Only recalling ONE bike?  ???
Any recalls I've seen usually had a series of VIN #s.  ???

Maybe the work experience guy only helped assemble the one engine ;)
Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

Wouldn't it have been a hell of a lot simpler for BMW to just call the dealer and tell him to send the engine back to them?

I mean, putting out a full fledged Recall notice for one motorcycle seems more like the company is just trying to tell the world they are a responsible motorcycle producer.

When it comes to BMW it is best not to try to understand why they make decisions and do things. All it will get you is a headache.   ::)
