How are US Himalayan sales going?     Been rather quiet on that front since all of the initial buzz.   Another flash in the pan?

my dealer tells me they have done quite well with them........not sure what that means though. They would rather sell Triumph (higher $ sale) than RE, but Triumph makes nothing like the Himalayan.

The TOTAL factory production for the Himalayan by Royal Enfield was
July = 811, Aug = 536, Sept = 1140, Oct = 1089

Total factory production for all models of the Royal Enfield was
July = 67000, Aug = 67004, Sept = 70065, Oct = 70004

The vast majority of these were the 350cc models sold in India.

Arizoni, how do you know so much? No matter what the subject you seem to have actual facts on it. Thanks. I may need to get a Himalayan one of these years. They are certainly cheap enough and I think I could throw some of my lightweight camping gear on and go for an adventure.

In this case, I belong to a web site in India and a guy publishes the motorcycle/motorscooter production numbers there.

I don't know where he gets his data but he seems to know what each factory in India puts on the market, every month.  I suspect he works for the Indian government because he even knows what the Harley Davidson company and Triumph has for sale in India and these brands are usually very secretive about what they are doing.

Here's a link to his latest post:

Well there are people out there modding street scramblers to actually function off road, but they are not off the shelf bikes by any stretch of the imagination.

According to a few reports in the Indian press there is a very good chance of a 650 twin based Himalayan later this year:

Bought my Himalayan two weeks ago this Friday!  Did my first service on it and enjoying all the roads I can now ride that I avoided on my street bikes.

My dealer sold all 5 '19s he ordered so the next batch will have ABS and a small price increase.

If they aren't selling in a certain area it is probably because dealers are trying to increase their profits with all kinds of fees.  I paid $4500.

Arizoni has some good stats. I subscribe to several Indian automotive industry (includes motorcycles) and find them very interesting. The numbers are not hard to get if you want to do the digging. All of the companies report their sales monthly which makes it simple.
Here is one blog that I like https://bikeadvice.in/two-wheeler-sales-june-2019/
