Hola,

While perusing the bike culture here in Spain, I noticed this bike among the new Benellis being announced.

A good percentage of E-scooters and E-cars here, and the cava and bacalao are superb. ;)

Not unattractive, they haven't smothered it all in black. Or brown.

I kind of like the somewhat classic 1960's look, but I don't know about the name.  ::)

That new Benelli's nice enough, I guess. Should do well in India and the Southeast Asian markets, where it's truly a race to the bottom, if the price is kept way down. It's so clearly designed to nibble at Royal Enfield's home market share, that these comments, if reported correctly in the article, are just puzzling:

"It will be ready next year. We understand the market (in this segment) is very big, but we also understand the weakness of our competitors, and that is the reason we haven't launched it yet. The Imperiale will also be part of a complete family of engines and displacements and versions," Dante Bustos, Chief Marketing Officer, Benelli -Global, told Carandbike in a recent interaction.

Are we to interpret Benelli's delay in rolling these new scoots out as some act of mercy to its flagging rivals? Sure.
So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

Maybe Google translate incorrectly interpreted the "interaction"...

Pretty impressed how they got it to weigh so much !!!
Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

IMHO it's a very good looking bike, but I know nothing about Benelli's reliability, historically.

Can anyone chime in on that?

You don't need to know about Italian reliability, it's made in China ;)

Benelli's built in Italy?  Myself along with a lot of others saw a Benelli 900 being revved to its limiter at the Italian Day in Bristol a few years ago and must admit I was most impressed with how clean the hole one of its pistons made as it exited the engine.

Engine stats look good on paper though and I hope to see one in the flesh.

I live near a Benelli dealer in Escondido Ca. I admit to drooling on the  green TNT300.

200 kg = 440 pounds kerb weight. That is Norton Commando territory. Maybe a typo. If not the 19 hp is going to have its work cut out to haul the thing along.

BMW managed to add 40 pounds to their new Euro 4 F750/850GS, compared with their previous Euro 3 F700/800GS models by switching from a steel-tube frame to a pressed-steel frame, like they used to use during the 1930's.  When their customers asked for a "retro" model, I don't think they were expecting an additional 40 pounds of pressed steel.  ::)  Their 850GS now weighs just 10 pounds less than my R1200RS boxer.   :o  So it can be done....   ;)
