In my never ending search for the perfect riding gear, about 10 years ago I bought the waxed cotton Falstaff from Aerostich. It has all the features of their Darien jacket but with the old school look and feel of cotton. It also has a great looking plaid inner liner. It comes with shoulder and elbow padding and I added the optional back protector. What it boils down to is a jacket that weighs a ton, is hot in summer in spite of the vents, and is cold in winter. With the added benefit of sucking dirt right out of the air. Even in the closet.
