For the past few days I have been trying to send a PM.  Unfortunately all I am getting is the following error message.  Could this be fixed?

Thank you.

I notice your message I see above made it without having any data based errors.

Are you using any symbols in your posts?  Things like dollar signs, percentage signs and the like?   I don't think the new system likes anything except for the normal letters, numbers, periods, commas etc.

The system also seems to have heartburn with messages sent from some phones and notepads.

No special characters were present in my message.  Perhaps the problem was fixed or server restarted.  Anyway, thank you for info.

ive had the same problem and in all honesty -all members should put a few $$$ in -and lets get back to the old forum system which works
I have no problems to help pay for a working forum and all others should agree. what good is a new system which is really a PITA
only the other day I had 4 attempts to get my reply across and that was over two days... always the error message too.
I should run my own forum...LOl I just lack the forum knowledge to do so - e other side is not a problem ;)
wildbill's fantasy forum  :o sorry wrong one!...LOL

Now I am just wondering ... what was wrong with the old website where everything worked?

I don't recall what system this forum was using but there are several software forum packages that are old and they are no longer supported by the maker.

Using one of these old, out of date programs opens up the door to some security risks like allowing crooks to get access to member information or plant Trojans and spy programs into the forum.
These could then contaminate the members computers/laptops.

Good point Arizoni but unfortunately I do not think it is very accurate.  The previous software, from what I remember, completely free and therefore very popular, was phpBB.  If you visit their site you will find out that the latest version 3.2.3 was released on September 13, 2018.

https://www.phpbb.com/

As far as the current software ... It is written by Simple Machines and most likely it is also very good.  The problem may be just with maintenance or configuration.

Well I'm not complaining but I'd really like to have all our old photos restored, I loved looking at them and being able to put a face/bike with a member name.

It has been mentioned more than once, but so far none of the forum admins seems able or willing to so.  :(

This new forum change was a huge step backwards. :(

And then they ask for donations, on top of it.
