I heard on the news today that the Brain Trust running Berkeley, CA is considering passing an ordinance that would make it illegal for restaurants in the town to sell meat, or anything containing meat, on Mondays as a way to make their residents and visitors more healthy.  You gotta love those guys.  Always looking out for the rest of us.  ::)

I just listened to a more detailed story about this matter and it seems like the meatless Mondays would only apply to meals provided by the city.  ???

Sorry to spill the wind out of the billowing outrage sails, but even though locals call it "Berzerkley", this is simply not true. The Berkeley City Council merely voted to have meatless meetings one day a week, yet to be decided, whereby "all City-owned and City-managed facilities and programs will provide only plant-based foods on Mondays (or another day of the week)."  Frankly, if this grey-looking moontanned professional fussbucket and busybody who introduced the resolution wants to nibble on carrots and kale in the Council Chambers, better there than anywhere else else you or I might actually see her. I mean, you weren't really hoping for her to roll up with your basket of wings at the local Hooters anyhow, were you?:

At least all city employees, police, visitors and the homeless that get fed for free by Berkeley will be able to eat meatless donuts on Monday.  ;D

Probably not...I mean, vegetarians are always the good enlightened folk, right? Gentler, kinder, more peaceable...
