My GT needs more than the Givi windscreen. It needs a humidity plow.

And the Official Highest Ever on Record  temperature in Waco today was 114° F !    GT was almost too hot to touch even in the garage.

:o Been hitting the high 90's/low 100's here in Albuquerque since June. All my t-shooting of the C5 has had to be done between 0430 and 0900 while the garage is still cool enough to work in.

115°F yesterday.  116°F just an hour ago here in Phoenix.

That 116°F doesn't set a record but it does tie one for this date.

Too hot for my taste.   :o   55 degrees and foggy at my place this morning. It should clear up and hit 65 as the high by this afternoon though.  :-\

It's been consistent 90's and low 100's here in Denver for the last couple of months.  It's been doing wonders for the garden tho!

The high heat is bad but I don't think it is much worse than temperatures of -30°-40° F below zero like a lot of people up in the North put up with every year.

Now, I did get to experience one day that was unbelievably hot here.

The company I worked for is located right next to the Phoenix International airport (Sky Harbor).
I was located on one of the upper floors and the building has windows that allow a person to look out and watch the airplanes over on the main runways.

On this day, (June, 26th, 1990) I noticed there were no airplanes taking off, taxiing or landing.
I asked around the office and found out why.

The temperature outside was 122°F !

The commercial and other airplanes were not certified to take off or land at temperatures that hot.

At the time, I was riding my BMW K-75 to work so I got to ride home in that heat.

It was so hot that the skin on my arms and face felt like it was burning.
Sitting at a stop light was really bad but riding along at 40-50 mph wasn't any better.
The sweat evaporated faster than my body could make it so it was a stinging, burning hot feeling all the way home.
It was the same kind of feeling I got if I was standing in front of one of the heat treating furnaces with the door open and its 2000°F heat blasting out.

Not good at all !

It was a damn good thing my ride was only about 6 1/2 miles.
I think I wouldn't have been able to make it if it had been over 10.

Oh!  It's a balmy 115°F outside right now.  ;D

When I was stationed at Howard AFB in the Panama Canal Zone during the mid-1960's, I saw the last flying B-47 land and then it couldn't take off again until the rainy season arrived and the temperature and humidity dropped from the high-80 degrees to the mid-60 degrees at night. They also brought in an F-111 to see how it would deal with the Panamanian weather.  Apparently, it didn't like it all that much as I heard that a lot of the electrical components and wiring started rotting after a couple of months.  One day it just disappeared, but I never heard it take off.  ???  I loved riding my 1966 Suzuki B-100P around the county. I always knew what the weather would be every day. Warm and wet in the afternoon, or warm and dry for 4 months out of the year.
