I suppose this could be posted in other sections quite legitimately, but I thought it best to put it here. We recently had a couple of close ratio gear sets made for the Indian made 5 speed gearboxes and I have fitted one to our 350 racer [the 500 is still out of action at present].
The transformation is quite remarkable, with first gear being a lot higher and closer to second and the gaps between all the other gears closed down. Check this clip out - that is a standing start from the bottom of the hill and down to first gear as i go past the camera !!

This is good work. All the hp upgrades in the world are practically useless without a gearing change. Went through this in the 70's when we put corvair motors in VW's. 13 second quarters were the limit, with the stock tranny no mater how much power you put out. Whoops, My wife reminded me the fastest time was 13.7. Isn't she great?
