O.K so went to the bike & didn't start - assumed I may have flooded it (smell of petrol) so pulled out the plug and at the same time as I move the plug boot it came off - copper thread inside very Green >:( So given the lead is already short and hope no to cut it - which NGK boot are you guy's using > have seen it mentioned before - i.e dump the crap metal one and replace with NGK......... but can't remember angle etc (I assume it will be deep set one) and model number would be great. What pisses me off is the I had 2 from the Guzzi engine I am using i the trike - but cut one trying to make it fit in CERY tight chassis, and the other fell apart!!!!
Thanks

I replaced my high tension boot and wire with some MSD parts I had laying around but sounds like you don't have that option.  See if any friends replaced the spark wires on their cars and choose the best of the leftovers.  Or find an old school auto parts store and buy a single wire with boot from them.

The coil-end wire is threaded onto a thin post about 1" deep in the coil tower.  It takes a bit of effort but it does unscrew.  Clean up the tower and post as well as the primary connections.  The new spark plug wire will be too thick for the tower so figure out a way to remove just enough insulation to fit without removing too much.  Avoid trial screwing the new wire onto the post -- it clogs up the threads making very difficult for the final installation.  If your boot is too short (like mine) then run the wire on the left-hand side of the engine.  Use silicone dielectric grease when you put everything back together except use anti-seize on your NGK BPR6ES (7131) spark plug.

I use an NGK 8032 - VB05F ( 5kohm ) on my 14gt.   It has appx 45° angle on coil wire and relieves strain on short coil wire.  With a resistor cap use non resistor plug.  Cheers.

You might also benefit from some racing HT lead (yellow and black PVC sheath) with the thicker copper core.

If the HT cable is too short, you can easily extend the HT cable from the coil, with an HT cable joiner and seem extra cable. The joiner in this link is well thought out, and seals the connection from water ingress, for under 5 GBP:

Did think bout one of those - even if I haven't seen one for 40 years (now 58) may have to grab one for the spares box next time back in blighty :D

In that case search google or eBay (or whatever), and try harder:

There are plenty out there.
