What material is the silencer made from? The outer looks at a casual glance to be stainless, but the silver-painted welds on the underside look suspiciously like the core may be mild steel - hence the paint.

I've seen quite a few bikes now and some have brush-painted welds and others have been roughly masked-off and presumably spray-painted.
