Any recommendation for a reasonable priced mesh jacket suitable for the 100° + f  temperatures here in central Texas?

The "all the gear all the time"  for the loud pipes saves lives  crews is usually t shirt and sun screen.

Power Trip makes a decent mesh jacket that retails for $129.99.  Probably the most affordable brand name mesh jacket.  Otherwise Joe Rocket had some nice mesh jackets for around $199.99.

I have been wearing a Tourmaster Intake Series 2 jacket since 2009 and it has worked well in southern New Mexico and in central Virginia. Also wear a pair of mesh pants from Olympia.

Firstgear mesh jacket since 2008. My go-to jacket in anything over 70 degrees, and it protected me from damage in a crash. I patched it up and still use it. I tried the mesh pants but prefer my Fieldsheer Kevlar bluejeans.

I have a REV'IT Traction jacket and the thing is super airy.
It looks solid but is actually very meshy.

Into a string of 9 100°+ days now here in central Texas.  Reached 104 the other day.  Back in 2011 we had over 90 days in a row of 100+ days!  Any mesh jacket would have to have removable sleeves!

Here in Virginia it's presently in the 90s with about a billion percent humidity. I suspect the "RealFeel" temperature might be "Surface of the sunny side of the planet Mercury". But with my $5 thrift store slightly oversized J. Crew cotton "barn field corduroy collar hunting jacket" kinda like the one shown below, but in olive drab green to match the bike, I'm cool as a cucumber at speed (at least such as that may be understood on an Enfield) on my little hundred mile run today up to the Appalachian foothills and back.

It was a just a pleasant surprise for me, but thing is, with a single lower button done up, the wind flows in and also into those really wide sleeve cuffs, blows me up like the Michelin Man, and really turbo=ventilates the whole torso with forced air...even better, certainly safer, than just being in my shirtsleeves. One imagines that any similar light loose jacket with really wide sleeve cuffs might do the same trick.  I'd originally picked up my thrift shop find thinking I might treat it with some of that old school wax stuff used for waterproofing Belstaff or Barbour gear, but I think I'll just let it be. It's just perfect as-is.

Yes, I have an old Belstaff for chillier climes and times, but this old J. Crew's now my go-to summer riding jacket. It may not be "cool", but it's cool, if you get my drift:

All that said, given that pretty unbeatable closeout price and in a concession to the 21st century and all, I've also just ordered one of those Highway 21 Turbine Mesh wonder-jackets recommended by Leonard. Now I just need to find myself some LED-bedazzled britches to match. Thanks for the tip, guy!

So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

Well, I've had that Highway 21 mesh wonder jacket Leonard recommended for a couple of typically torrid July weeks here in Virginia. It sure does the job, let's lots of air flow through (especially at the armpits, which is pleasant in a way that might have been frowned upon by the nuns at Our Lady of Perpetual Gloom), has at least some modern armoring in the shoulders, elbows and back, seems pretty well made--especially the zippers and other fasteners, which can be a real weak point in bargain outerwear. So yeah... definitely grab one while you still can if you need a warm weather jacket. It also has a little zip-in liner for cooler climes, which comes in it's own handy little cinch bag, though I obviously haven't used it yet. I doubt a fella could do better for the closeout price, at just $65 plus shipping. Sure, I'll still be using my frumpy old J.Crew for "warm" weather, but when that Mercury really spikes, I'll be grabbing for this new-fangled space age rig. Thanks again for the tip, Leonard!

Record 108 here in central Texas the other day.  Heading for 110 this weekend.   Not riding even if I had mesh.    Cold front below 100 due next week!

Brag all you like, but I've lived in Austin. One July I delivered phone books there (remember those kiddies?), which was hellish fun in a protracted sun strokey kinda way. But your 100+ days down yonder got nothing on a DC blazer. It's like being dunked in a hot steaming tub of Cream of Mushroom soup whilst a feverish hippo burps in your face as another pisses on your scalp.

I have a Joe Rocket mesh jacket that actually let's air thru it and feels cool compared to my leather.

I have a similar one by Dri Rider (Aussie brand) and got to crash test it a month or so ago. Lowsided somewhere around 60,70kph. The armour stayed in place and did it's job, mesh held up well as did the Kevlar lined pants.  Just a couple of bruises on the hips. No biggie. Safety gear rocks.
