Its been somewhat of an ordeal but I'm mailing Bmadd34 his activated vehicle Scout (https://findmyscout.com/motorcycle-and-atv-gps-tracking/) tomorrow.  Hopefully he will be able to include it into his upcoming "long ride" adventure.

You can view its current and historical locations at
   https://app.findmyscout.com/scouts/map
using the following login credentials
   group_psychosis@yahoo.com/Bmadd34.

Scout does not yet offer subaccounts (they will) so everyone is an "Administrator".  Please don't change any settings.

I've entered the known itinerary as Zones.

For those of you with iPhones or Androids and are comfortable with installing apps, you can get real-time movement detection, zone entry/exit, etc alerts using the "FINDMYSCOUT" app and logging in with the credentials given above.  I don't do apps so I can't give you more details than that.

I'll be driving it out to Descanso tomorrow so you can see how it will work for Bmadd34.

The Scout is a nice device with a sensitive and I believe unique "movement detection" sensor that alerts your smartphone app if your motorcycle has been jostled, etc.

I just arrived home from a 1250 mile run in my Abarth - and I thought it was no picnic either. I thought about this C5 venture many times on the run too.
My verdict! ….I wouldn't like to be on one for such a long ride in such a short time span.
although - once upon a time as stories go-we had a long distance Australia rider by the name of SECTORSTEVE
I bet if he was about now and on a C5 which never broke down - that guy would/could do it. truly a long distance runner but unfortunately for him-his bike was the proverbial problem child ::) suffering huge breakdowns plus untold drama to boot
although in the end he saw the light and aborted the Enfield.i may too call it quits when I get to the 20th..LOL
at the moment I am just chasing my dream...a good one....LOL

;D ;D ;D Bmadd34 has received his Scout GPS tracker and is recharging it after its USPS journey across America.  Its at his home (Bmadd34 zone) in a lovely forested area of NC.  We don't get Green like that in SoCal.  For those of you with the Scout app on your smartphones you will get alerts when he moves on and out of that zone (I don't do apps and he doesn't have a smartphone).

Let us know what you think.

I'm at the Clubhouse right now, and will be for a while yet. We have a local ride in the morning. Hey, thanks again Mr. Remington. It was very kind of you. I just finished washing, waxing, rubbing the shiny bits of the C5 with mother's compound and installing the O2 sensor delete kit. I hard wire it in in a bit.

Bmadd34 -- you're welcome.

Is anyone else tracking Bmadd34's travels besides me?

I gave him the Scout so all of us could follow his journey from the comfort of our web browsers (mouse in my right hand, IPA in my left hand).  Bit of a bummer if I'm the only one.

Did you see the trip today? I came back in hopes of seeing it second hand, but I guess it's only real time.

Yes I did.  On the Home page, click on the right-side down arrow.  Then click on the clock icon in the popup window.  You will see your history for the last two days.

I assume you are carrying your Scout in your pocket.  This morning you walked around what I believe is your property.  Then you traveled through The Downs to Valley Brook before returning through Chapel Hill and environs to you home, which is where you are now.

I believe your fastest speed was 63 mph.

The Scout says your speed was 76 for Mandale-to-Eli Whitney today.  I guess those posted speed limits are pretty high in NC!

LOL, a Sportster got a little cocky. Actually got up a bit faster than that for a bit (indicated 90ish), but the Scout didn't get that snippet. I was just going over the history myself.

i've been thinking on and off about this ride. knowing what I know now and its totally against my thinking method - if I did the run for peace of mind i'd ride it totally stock standard.
my last two low klm bikes have actually shit themselves at around 600 miles and both running sports mufflers....LOL
i'd say overheated as temps were 30'C. although I think once properly run in its a different bike and story.
on a 30c day with 500 miles on the clock I lasted 50 miles exactly and KAPOW! LOL
party over

Mine now has 2500 miles on it. First 1000 were broken in properly (for the most part).
