If you want to hear an irritating EV noise, check out the sound that an Energica electric motorcycle makes. It comes close to dragging your nails across a blackboard.  :o

And there you go.  Would you rather hear a sound like that going by your home or the pop, pop, pop, sound that a Royal Enfield makes with a sport muffler riding by.  I know which one I would rather hear.  ;)

Speaking of traveling at 15 mph, here is the latest EV that won't go much faster.  ::)  2kW is not a lot of power, I believe.  ;)  Not sure about the sound level, but it probably isn't very high, unless Vespa attaches some playing cards to its spokes.  :-*

2KW is equal to 2.68 horsepower if everything is 100% efficient.

Of course, electric motors and controls are not 100% efficient so the actual power is undoubtedly less.

On the positive side, electric motors make their highest torque at low rpm so the acceleration might be better than the 2KW (or 4KW max) power of the batteries would seem to be able to give.

On a sunday walk i've been overtaken by one of these mono-wheel scooters making easily something like 15mph on gravel. Wonder what would have happened if a slightly bigger stone would have gotten in its way.  ;D

Lucky you. Passed by a mono-wheel. I hope you were not riding your Royal Enfield at the time.  How embarrassing.  :-[

The technology affine part of the population around is laughing at a Royal Enfield anyway, so as you see I don't care much about not getting embarrassed. However if a mono-wheel were to overtake me on my bike on the road it would certainly be somewhat anoying.

Electric Ducati in 2030, why so soon, 2100 would be a better date.

BMW has Ducati beat with this idea.  But I really like it. I could send this thing to a BMW rally and follow on my Bullet.   ;D

This little girl is real cute on her little monowheel saving the world from the horrible cars and motorcycles, but I'm sure she goes no great distance on the silly thing. But, of course, that's not what it's for, I guess. It's just the inevitable progression from the Segue and the motorized skate boards of many years ago.

I'd rather stay off the sidewalk and ride sitting down thank you very much  :) :) :o

BTW, single wheel motorcycles have been out there for many, many years. There is no new thing under the sun; just evolving and improvements on stuff that's been around for years.

That's soon going to happen anyway, driverless motorcycle races, no big vision needed. Maybe it's going to be interesting to watch too - like once.  ;)  :)

...and here you have it, how long till full scale races are set up to perfect this technology? and how long till they beat the human drivers on the race track where you have fairly predictable conditions?

not too long I think and the human racer might be "obsolete". Don't Think IOM TT or MotoGP will stop because of that.
