Rider magazine, on the last page of their June issue, has an illustrated 2- page review of a 1956 Indian Woodsman 500, which was imported the Indian Sales Corporation between 1955 and 1959. The example in the pictures of the article looks well used and is modified in several ways, but apparently is still hanging in there.  It is owned by Catherine Patterson in Pasadena, CA.  If you don't get the magazine, you can always read this article on your local newsstand in just a few minutes.  However, since the magazine has a couple of long articles about riding the new Himalayan model, you might want to invest in this issue of Rider.

The RIDER "retrospective" on the  Woodsman also said that it "put out some 30 hp".  Too bad today's modern made in India 500s can't at least match that number.
