Lots of new stuff coming with the new engine. ABS, disc brakes and slip assist clutch.

CGT and a standard standard model too. Nice.

This should be a good thing;

"While it has already been at work revamping almost all of their systems, Royal Enfield's Techinical Centre also aims to to bring in-house many of the development processes that the company currently outsources, or used to until recently. To wit, Royal Enfield says it now has full in-house engine, chassis and design lifecycle ability."

I have been in the TVS factory in Mysore (India) many times. They have a rig that lifts a new bike up and drops it from about 10 ft. at LEAST 15,000 times. If it passed that test it is good to go. They also have a test cell where the bike is driven (on rollers controlled by robots for throttle etc.  for its intended useful life. If I remember correctly the useful life is about 60-70,000 miles. For the entire time they mis-shift, over rev, run at top RPM's for hours etc.
It is rare that they turn out a bike that will cause much trouble. I assume that Bajaj etc. do as well. I would hope that RE now has something similar in the tech center.
Best Regards,

I just love Royal Enfield!!

This new 648cc parallel twin engine will produce 47bhp of power and 52Nm of torque. They are expected to launch a motorcycle with this engine by mid-2018.

I had heard something very similar, but it was unconfirmed. It would be nice to know if that is 100. where did you hear/read about that?
