I thought this long article was pretty interesting and gives you something, perhaps unpleasant, to think about:   :(

Kinda scary.

I know that the existing radar speed detectors on the roads around my city don't recognize motorcycles until they are almost on top of them.

These detectors are placed along roadsides and have large numbers telling the driver how fast they are approaching them.

Almost every time I ride past one on my motorcycle, it doesn't change its reading until I'm less than 50 feet from it.  Sometimes less.
It does recognize large vehicles at a distance of at least 200 feet and if a car or truck is about that far behind me, it reads out his speed and never shows mine at all.

I don't know if the radar speed detectors the police use are better or worse than that but I suspect they are about the same.

The speed signs around here operate the same way.  However, our cops have moved (via government grants - courtesy of our tax dollars) to instant on laser-detection (LADAR) speed checking devices that use a gun-like device with a telescopic sight that can pick off a motorcycle at a considerable distance. Radar/laser detectors are pretty much worthless when those speed checkers are in use.  :(

If you are still interested in the subject and have time on your hands, here is an interesting, but long, blog regarding automated vehicles vs motorcycles, part 2:

and one discussing liability should a self-driving car cause an accident: https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/highly-automated-vehicles-legal-ethical-issues
