The July issue of Motorcycle Consumer News contains an article discussing dynamometers. In a sidebar to this article they review a couple of smart phone applications that they say will provide an approximation of the horsepower and torque, along with some performance statistics for your vehicle, just by performing full-throttle acceleration. Attached are photos of two of the app reviews that sounded interesting and potentially useful for a motorcycle owner.

I'm liking this app   ;) 8)   Trying out with this new Cam profile I ground up.   Takes a little bit to get the perimeters dialed in, bikes weight, riders weight, final drive ratio, gear ratio's and etc.  I have it set up to display results at the wheel on the graph... it's give both at the crank and at the wheel numbers in the report.  At the crank the numbers are about 7-8 higher then at the wheel, which is pretty consistent with the drive losses we have been seeing on these UCE engined bikes.   It's pretty consistent and good for doing comparisons between different mods one try's anyway.....
