Anybody tried Hitchcock's fairing? I would like a fairing that's good quality and reliable and fits good. Does anybody know if you have to lower the clip-ons with the Hitchcock's fairing?

I have two acquaintances with the Hitchcock full fairings mounted.  Fit and finish is as expected.  Yes, you need to drop the clipons below the top clamp.  Yes, there is some vibration of the fairing under power.  Yes, it made the bikes look cooler (which I'm pretty sure is your intent).  In one case it helped with top end (heavily modded engine).

I've got shields on both of my Bullets, my 2002 ks I/B has a memphis shade 'venom' (I think), is real productive, looks ok & is really stable. My 2012 C5 has a bit larger slip streamer shield, WAY more productive, VERY stable but does tend to catch more wind(obviously), but still reaches 70mph without issues or vibration.

Now looking at the Hitchcock's website, I could be wrong but it looks like the bars are in the stock position. Not dropped. I'm sure there's going to be a bit of vibration at highway speeds. What I wonder is even though the bottom half of the fairing is open, how much if any air is restricted to the engine?
Of course I'm going for the cool Factor but also a bit of functionality as well.

I thought about getting the windscreen for the GT when I first got the bike but I think in the long run I would be happier with a fairing

Okay, taking a better look at the Hitchcock's picture, you're right. You do have to lower the bars.

I was completely satisfied with the Dart Classic Flyscreen.  Diverted enough air over me to increase comfort, without creating so much dead air that what was left did it's job to relieve some of the wrist pressure at speed.

If you have doubts with airflow, just go with the top half.

Well, the picture Hitchcock's has on their website shows the old GT with more of a aerodynamic bottom fairing. I guess it's safe to say that the newer fairing being more open towards the front of the motor allows for more airflow. I just wonder if the fairing hinders some of the heat from the engine being pulled away from Air flowing around the sides of the bike. And also with the fairing being open to the front, does it act more like a sale with air coming in from the front but not able to escape as freely from the back side of the fairing. Be kind of nice to see the bike in a wind tunnel with the Fairing and then again without the fairing. And of course like I said before, I love the cool Factor and also the functionality of it, allowing for a little more top-end speed without having to put the bike through more effort.

Where did you get that fairing and how expensive is it?   And did you have to paint it?

Tnx,  hpwaco

Hi Mates
Fairing is small about 12" w X 14" high so to fit it I had to move headlight out about 4" I used metal straps for moving headlight and plumbing straps to hold the rear tight.
It is sold on Amazon for about $100 it comes with 2 u straps and a pile of misc screws, it is white ABS so I sanded it with 1500 grit and painted it with rustoleum sunrise red and about 5 coats of clear
I would recommend a taller fairing that clears the tach and speedo so you don't have to move headlight
