Hey does anyone else's CGT have a really irritating buzzy noise coming from somewhere? Mine does but hasn't always been there. It comes in at about 4200 rpm and lasts until redline. I'm damned if I can find the source of this buzz. I can't tell if it's coming from inside the engine or out. It only does it while I'm riding. That makes me think that it's an external noise. But it would be nice to be rid of it.

Yes. Irritating, ain't it?

Hey you haven't disturbed something when you replaced the fuel hose?

no, its been doing it for ages. I only just got around to moaning about it. I'd convinced myself that it was the horns on those brackets vibrating but took them off yesterday and no change. too bad I can't run it with the tank off, though.

None. I thought it could be the horn bracket, but I've held onto it and nothing but buzz.

It's just one more thing to love about it.

Most likely your gas cap. I fixed mine by stretching a large O ring around it (the grey part). The vibrations have stopped.

My bike made so many noises it freaked me out. After riding Japanese machinery for years it was less than a novelty. After doing my best to locate squicks, rattles, klicking, etc. I took the baffle out of the silencer. Haven't heard these noises since. Seriously, I have tightened all fastners and used locking compound on many of them to prevent bits parting company.

 hi Gizzo,
Funny you should mention that, had the same thing happen a while back. Turned out to be the rear tank mounting bolt rubbers compressed too far allowing the downturned edges of the mounting bracket to vibrate and just touch the frame bar creating the buzzing noise. Another rubber or nylon washer under it should fix.

Cheers Jimmy, been there and done that since the tank rubbed through the wiring loom and blew the interior injector fuse. Still buzzes though....

Have had a high pitched whine on my 14gt since new.  Assume its the ecu oscillator.   Dealer wasn't any help.
