Hi HP. The steering damper is a universal mass production item from ebay. I've seen this item being used on the Bonnevilles.Cost about 30$. I've fitted it to the frame using a bicycle derailleur clamp. It's 31.8mm clamp. On the yoke there are threads which can be used to attach the rod. All straight forward and simple. Hope I could help.

Otto, thanks for the steering damper info and especially the bicycle derailer clamp details.   I've seen Hitchcock's damper but never cared for that style and its way too expensive for me.

What is the need for a steering dampener? I can see if you were racing and experiencing speed wobble using a steering dampener but I don't understand the need for one for day-to-day usage. Somebody enlighten me.

IMO, it just makes the machine look more "racy".

Kinda like putting a wing on the back of a Miata.  ;D 8)

Just one man's opinion but I'm not too crazy about the look. I understand the function of the dampener but don't care too much for how it looks when installed.

Different strokes for different folks. By not buying  a steering dampner
you can spend your money on something else. Good on you.

Hi. Which site did you get the damper from on ebay and what is the item number.
I'd be interested to see how much it is for shipping to UK and would like to fit one to my bike,
Apart from it looks nice, it is a useful bit of kit to have on any bike.

Cannot remember which exact ebay site.  However it came from Hong Kong and cost about $35 Australian. It also came with the alloy bracket that fits on the frame tube. This bracket's hole I had to file larger by about 2mm as it was too small. Try searching I am sure you'll find it.

On ebay it is described as 330mm and comes in 5 colours. The accompaning alloy mounting bracket opening (in my case) needed to be slightly enlarged to fit the frame tube.
