I ordered it from India direct (sorry CMW) and it finally arrived.   Went on pretty easy and only had to drill a single hole to attach the front of the saddle to frame bracket.   Love the look of it and its pretty comfortable.

Were there any instruction included?

No instructions, they were in pieces and I had to buy about 10 nuts and bolts to finish putting it together and attach it to the bike.

The hard part was getting the bolts inside the springs.  Had to wedge the coils apart and put 2 bolts in each.  The 4 smaller springs were a pain.  Used plenty of blue Loctite since I don't want to repeat the assembly process.  I dry fit everything before I tightened everything up.   Had to spread the pillion brackets a bit to meet up with the racks.

Today is the big test.  Gonna put the wife on the back and see if she likes.

Mine didn't; but she is a little wider than the pad.
I liked the look better but went back to the long seat.

Well , it passed the test.  She likes it better than the original. (I think she like the look most)   Still a bit tiring on the old rear after 2 hours of riding,  but mostly I attribute it to the 90+ temp and high humidity.

The bike looks good.  But how do YOU find the seat, Gary?

So were the models you bought from India different from the models available from CMW?
...and if so, how?

Do you have a link to the India Direct gear page?

THANKS!

By the way... they look GREAT!

It looks the same as the one in the CMW catalog, but I don't really know if it any better or worse.   Its vinyl as far as I can tell.

Too be fair I have purchased quite a few items from CMW and have had a very good experience, if I had to return this seat I think I would have not been as happy,  but I like taking foolish risks once in a while.

Gary
are you happy with the position of this seat as it looks more forward and say 3" higher riding position than the stock dual saddle.

The similar one from cmw was way too big for me. I lowered the frame 1 inch and narrowed the rear allmost 2 inches. Heres the frame after the mods with a 1 foot scale. Now its no taller(I'm not using the springs) and no wider than the original seat. It was huge as bought.

Shipping was very reasonable from India.

The seat is about an inch or so higher than the stock saddle.  I have a 32" inseam and wear boots or chucks and it seems fine.

I have had this saddle for over a month and about 700 miles and I like it.

The front horn (?) of the saddle is attached with two  2" metal bars to the frame mount (I had to drill one hole on the right side of the bracket on the frame.)  I believe the CMW one is sprung at the front of the horn.   I imagine being sprung would help out when I have my wife on the pillion as I tend to sit farther forward.  Riding solo it is very comfortable, no seat fatigue at all.

FYI... I put a deluxe vinyl solo seat on my '07 Bullet.  It apparently comes through with a a 4" spring set.  I ordered it from my dealer (Mike Depalo on Long Island) I asked about seat height change.  I have closer to a 30" inseam and didn't want any increase in seat height.  He sent me a 3" spring set.  The 4" felt too high.  The 3" was perfect.  So be aware there are different height springs available for the solo seats.
