New rear tyre today. This time I'm trying a dual compound bridgestone bt45. It's the same size as standard pirelli but it looks skinny for some reason. Will see how it goes, I'm sure it will be fine.

Do any of you have a particular tire to recommend for winter up here in Boston? My GT is pretty much only a short commute (10 minutes on surface streets only) bike now that I no longer live in California, so I'm looking for good performance in wet and salty roads

I think  using "good performance" and "wet salty streets" together is an oxymoron?

Look on eBay under Royal Enfield Continental GT and you'll find several tire studding kits.   Just what you need for those wintry Boston roads!   Probably won't work with tube tires!
