Looking at the German oil gauge, they have the 'red line 'at 120* C

That would be 2 degrees below the point where oil starts to degrade.

Thanks for all the replies. I have tried to make contact withe German outfit on a few occasions, both fax and email, so far no reply. maybe they don`t have any English. Never mind.
