Went up my favorite road the B9007 and cut off to Lochindorb to see the infamous/famous lair of the Wolf of Badenoch. Great roads, great weather and scenery.

This is also in the heart of "Grant Country" hence the name of Grantown.
Quote referring to President U.S.Grant.

"During his around the world journeys after leaving the Presidency, Grant was in Scotland and accepted a bet that no one could make him break his famous "Poker Face". Many things were tried to in the hopes of getting a reaction. Finally, a Grant clansman in the room shouted the Grant war cry of "Stand Fast, Craigellachie!". Grant broke out in a huge smile and he happily paid up the bet.

It is said that Grant carried a small piece of the Grant tartan with him throughout the Civil War."

The tourist route cafes are never as good as the off the beaten track one's. That's where the tour guides fail.
Translation of the headboard supplied on request. ;D

Plus my phobia of seaweed being exploited in order to make me pay for the next meal. >:(

None needed!  FYI, based on context alone, "homely" here in the US often means just the opposite of the UK usage...

Afa fine coffee = excellent coffee.

Fancy pieces = excellent cakes and pastries.

Hamely fare = delicious home cooking.

Eat in or oot = you have the choice of take away food and beverage.

I was close to getting the coffee part: Have a fine cup of coffee
Fancy pieces just didn't make sence to me
I thought Hamely fare was something about home cooking...
 Thanks!

Before seeing the picture, I always thought the Scotts just mispronounced the word "out".

Now, I see I was wrong.  OOT is how they say it and OOT is how they spell it.
