Howdy Gents,
.
My second post. I've been visiting since a few weeks prior to my new Conti GT purchase a few days ago (110 miles so far).
Some great info and experience in this forum...and very well written posts, unlike so many other moto forums.
.
I must say, you know you like the bike when you awaken at midnight, get up, gear up, and go out for a 40+ mile ride.
I did just that last nite (this morning).
.
Some mods coming up in my GT's future. Namely, Dynojet PC-V (on order - local Ducati dealer will dyno), Tom Lyons' Air Box (shipped), single tube SS header, and a throaty muffler.
This brings me to my question and I hope it's not too confusing - what's a good set up WRT SS header and SS muffler?
I'm not keen on loud, raspy sounding exhaust - I always remember that sweet, low rumbling exhaust of the Triumph T120 I had a hundred years ago.
Anyone have the GT factory optional muffler for the GT? If so, how's it sound?
I want the upswept style of muffler...not straight like the original.
.
I've looked at what Carpy's has to offer. I just spoke with the man - BTW, he's in good health, with a new Doctor, and is taking his meds.
He said that his SS megaphone muffler is not repackable and "...not too loud. I can add more packing if you'd like."
I may want a repackable muffler so that I can maybe adjust the loudness/tone. Any suggestions?

I want an upswept SS style and this one appeals to me -

Classic Sports Silencer (GT) - $139

But then this one is SS and also upswept and appeals to me. It looks identical to the one Hitchcock sells -
.
Premium Sports Silencer (GT) - $299

Thank you in advance for any input/suggestions about what I'm looking for > in particular, an upswept, free flowing, and not overly loud/noisy muffler.
