The challenges as I see them........
1. Will the Himalayan be a long term success in India? The GT was a flop in India, but I think the Himalayan has a better chance.
2. When will sales of the Classic (which is what is driving the huge success currently) flatten out. The bikes last a very long time so at some point new customers will dwindle. To be sure there is no sign of that at present but no company in the history of the world can keep growing at this rate.
3. Is it possible to turn a 350/500 into a mainstream bike in the export markets?
4. When the small Twin comes out, will it sell in India? In the export markets how badly will it cannibalize sales of the 350/500?
5. Can they bring new product that the folks will like soon enough?
6. And the $64 question...can they bring the quality up to reasonable standards?
Sid has hired the right people to bring the brand forward.... so time will tell
