Hi Guys,

I am on day 3 of riding my Enfield and went to get it registered today.  On the way back I noticed a rattling in the front end of the bike, but it didn't seem like a loose bolt or anything.  I am completely new to motorcycles and I am not sure where to begin diagnosing the problem.  What should I check first to rule out?

It seems to be consistent rattle and gets more pronounced at higher speeds.

Higher road speeds in general, or higher engine RPMs?  There's a lot of potential rattles that occur with engine vibration, especially if your bike is brand new and not broken in yet...

If it's a new bike and you're concerned about it,  have the dealer you bought it from check it out.

The rattle could be as simple as a loose piece of hardware or a key jingling  :o

Hi, and welcome to the forums!
   You'll not find a better class of folks than here  ;D , and with all the help and advice you can funnel down your throat.  ;)
   Isolating your keys is a good start. I had a rattle that drove me nuts until I got a leather wrap around all the extra ones on the ring.
   Other items to check...
     - All the hardware on your front mud guard. And use some blue thread locker on ALL of them. You can get his from any hardware or auto parts store. If your dealer did a proper setup it may have already been done.
     - Your front wheel axle pinch bolt for tightness. If loose it'll ring just as you described.
     - Anything from the handle bars all the way down to the bottom of your axle.

   And, as suggested, if you're relatively close to your dealer, take it back for warranty consideration.

Dan - Welcome to the family!
If it isn't the keys or something simple take it back to your dealer. Like always with these bikes it will be something simple. You also might want to look at the rt of the bike for something obvious. Noise can telegraph pretty easily.

I echo the previous sentiment.
A new bike and a new rider should take full advantage of the warranty. You can get experienced service, and learn things from them as you go along. Everyone starts out the same.

Inside the nacelle headlight housing lurks an abundant area to create grunts and groans etc,etc, etc, Remove the headlight and take a peek.  Something may jump out at you.  Congratulations on your new machine , I hope you will learn to love it as much as I love mine.

Many times the fuel tank bolts get loose,check it out. Does it seem to be at a peak just before you shift up?
