I was at my BMW/Triumph shop this morning (where I bought my RE B5) and noticed that they had two new 2016 Triumph Street Twins (top-end-only-water-cooled 900cc engines). They were already sold ($9000) and looked pretty nice to me. They are down on power compared with the 2005 model that I have, but have a higher torque rating and a wider spread of power under the curve than mine. Photos attached.

I'd rather have the TigerXR in the background.  That Street Twin is pretty boring in appearance.

I dunno, maybe I am too RE addicted or something.
None of these newer bikes seem to do anything for me.
Spoiled,  I guess. :)

When all's said and done, you're not walking out the door with that bike for less than 10 grand.
For that kind of money, you can have a bike custom built.

Sorry, I think it's gorgeous and depending on how I feel about RENA in the foreseeable future a viable replacement for my RE.

Just out of interest, what would you pay for a well set up TR6 Trophy in the States? Looks a whole lot better and there's no depreciation.

I'm partial to the matte black one, I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen on it but my chiropractic bills would kill me. That riding position just doesn't work for me any longer.

The 68 TR6C would fit the bill nicely. 8)
Ahh... I saw it first!
I know the guy selling them. That's his shop in the last pic. His name is Hugh and the shop is Sixth St. Specials on the lower east side of Manhattan. Real grimy old timey joint of the kind you thought didn't exist any more but miraculously is still holding on.
If I was looking for another headache bike I'd be headed over there right now.

Isn't this the same guy that did an old non-unit BSA on the first (???) season of Cafe Racer TV?

...edit...

yup, Hugh Mackie...
