Mate! That looks brilliant! The empty space and hidden electrical stuff looks so Right. Love it (apart from that hideous oversize number plate. Not much you can do about that, though).

Thanks mate! A lot of work has been put into this bike and i'm quite happy with the outcome. Yeah, I agree with you the number plate is huge.

Some modifications that have been extremely useful are:
  • Changed all bulbs to LED (headlight, brake lamp, indicators). Great visibility
     during nights!
  • Adjustable brake and clutch levers. Night and day difference
  • Hydraulic brake lever
  • Custom seat. Fits two "thin" persons.
  • PC5, air filter setup, SS full exhaust and ngk sparkplug/cap. Much more responsive and better torque
  • Lowered handlebars and new triple clamp

Attached some picture on how the bike looked when I first bought it vs now. Before and after :)

I put a muffler shield on my HD XL muffler. It will cover the goop from the bottom of my boots. With an air gap under the shield, my boots should do less melting. It's a stock Harley shield for my muffler.

Got out for a 20 minute ride. It wasn't too cold and the ice had melted.

Friday I serviced the battery. Saturday was my rest day from my Triathlon training. Ended up going for a pre- Dawn 90 mile ride out of town and into the country.

Can I ask for some more details on your electrical box, as it's just what I'm planning on doing with mine.

Also, is the seat readily available to buy from some where? Does it use the original seat mounts?

cheers, Gavin.

Heeey guys :) this
sunday afternoon 40 mile bike shop hammerfest ride. I'm in the process of buffing the gas tank with a three-stage buffing compound and a nice power buffer.

I got my 2014 inspected, Arlington, VA, state inspection. It’s a yearly ritual here. My sticker was good through the end of March. I just made it.

Speaking of inspection, I found out that my bike was due for one back in October of 2016. Unfortunately for some reason the state of Texas doesn't send you a notification when it's time for you to get it done. They do for your vehicle but I've never had one for my motorcycle. I noticed it was out of date when I noticed my license plate at about a 1 inch horizontal crack in it just below where the inspection sticker goes. Ended up having to drill a fine hole to stop the crack from growing.

You ought to check the Texas laws.

I did a quick check and found that Texas motorcycles don't have to go thru emission testing but they seem to have a  "safety inspection".

Here's a link to one thing I found

http://www.airchecktexas.com/

Emissions Testing Procedures
Is your vehicle required to be emissions tested?
All Texas registered vehicles are required to receive an annual inspection. All inspections include a comprehensive safety inspection; however, some vehicles are required to have an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection.

Which vehicles are required to have the emissions test?

Vehicles registered in designated counties. Designated counties include: Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, Williamson and El Paso counties.
Gasoline powered vehicles. Diesel powered vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from emissions testing, but are still required to have the annual safety inspection.
Vehicles 2 through 24 years old OR upon expiration of the two-year initial inspection sticker.

(Boldface added by me).

You might want to give them a call.
I know some of these regulations can be out of date and if your lucky, motorcycles might be exempted from the yearly safety check.
