Bought some rego, threw a battery in it and it started first stab of the button. Not started for 3 months. Then rode it out to the Motard track to do some marshalling.

I got out on a Christmas Eve eve ride yesterday. The office building on the upper right is called the Pentagon. Whenever you see a movie or TV show with a shot of DC/Pentagon, this is the marina you get to see included in the picture.

A wee ride in to town to fill up then booked it in for it's first service.

Much as I love it the build quality sucks.

Intermitent starter issue when hot. Dead sometimes as if battery flat or starter issue

Rear silencer rusting. I expected this to be honest.

Not a great start to my RE ownership. I was expecting issues on finish and general build quality tbh but very disappointed with the fuel figures. Here's hoping the dealer is good.  I could only find two in Scotland so picked the nearest Saltire Motorcycles. we shall see.

On a brighter note I've found this forum to be excellent and not really needed to post as it's such a wealth of info. I just thought I'd contribute my 2 penny's worth.

Apart from buying some heated gloves I haven't had any dealings with Saltire but I seem to remember them doing well in "dealer of the year" polls. Definitely something amiss with your mpg figures.

KC1961 good to know the dealer sounds reasonable. They sounded on the ball when I rang. It's going in Wednesday so I'll find out one way or another.

Yeah. Friday afternoon or Monday morning. I'm really torn about putting it in to a dealer as one of the main appeals of RE was I could do all the work on it. I'll get this service done and chase them for any warranty work then play it by ear. I'm not sure where I'd stand if I do the servicing and I doubt I'll be able to keep my hands off it so I'll probably void any warranty anyway.

Yeah, something's not right there. You might as well hit them up for as much warranty work as you can. A brand new shock leaking for starters, and that dribbly exhaust condition for second. I'm feeling pretty lucky with my first batch 2014 GT being adequately well made compared with some. It still looks really nice, too.

Pulled the NGK spark plug after about 7700 miles on it. Plug looks nice. Just a little bit of carbon build-up. Took a wire brush to it and adjusted the gap.

Finally installed the 1 1/8" digital led voltmeter ($10  from eBay China) on the "dashboard" of my emgo viper fairing.  Connected it to the switched grey tail light "hot" wire at the connector under the seat and ground.  Works great!

Otto, sorry no photo capability.  I really like it. Took a lot of sculpting to get it to fit.  Sunrise red good match.  Hole too small for 7" headlite.  GT vibes not kind.   Even with rubber washer spacers, number of cracks.  Need braces to mirror mounts.  Lots of super glue and more paint.

Nicer looking one from India on ebay, but 3x the price.   Cheers,  hp

That viper fairing looks nice. Maybe it's a knockoff of the Dunstall 1/4 fairing?  Have a look at airtech streamlining website. The real thing isn't expensive and it's fibreglass not plastic crap so it shouldn't fall apart. The viper looks like it'd be pretty easy to flop a mold from if you're that way inclined.
