HP - Could you post the URL or item number of the horns?
Are they stock or after market? My concern with some loud horns, is they will draw too much power from a not high charging electrical system of the GT.

Cheers,
Bill

Yabbut, you only blow a horn for micro-seconds or a couple seconds at worst. It's not like you have an LED, burn-a-hole-in-your-brain, flame-thrower headlight on all the time.

Put a relay in the circuit between the horns and the button = be fine I think.

I got tired of my super-loud dual horns real quick. Removed one of them. Plus it's pretty rare for me to even use a horn, but I can understand it for areas where you're surrounded by car lunacy (I love to see their heads jerk around :) ;) ) hopefully subluxating a couple of cervical vertebrae.

Louder horns.  Guaire -  On eBay look for dual tone extra loud Subaru behind the grill 139db horns or something like that.  Prices run from $12 up & many include shipping.  A couple also included a relay.    They are 4 7/8" diameter vs stock
3 3/4",  have a reddish removable, paintable grill and are lower in tone then stock.  Thought about adding a relay, but as stock doesn't have one or a fuse,  will see if anything melts.  As tooseeve say they are only on for a second.

Good luck.

Royal Enfields are notorious for having wiring that is just a touch more robust than a low amp fuse and the insulation can rapidly melt and allow the wire to short out on a ground wire.
There are lots of ground wires running in the harness with all of the power wires so getting a total meltdown is easy to do.

If it's possible, install a small horn relay and run a separate, larger wire to provide the power for the horn.  Use the wire that powered the old horn to power the horn relay.

Arizona - thanks, that was my intention when/if I get around to it.  In the meantime, I'll watch for smoke.  Time for a new bike anyway!

Hile makes a set of dual tone horns that are Extremely Loud. I've got a set on my 61 Willys Jeep wagon. They come with a red painted Grill. They're a little bit larger diameter then the Continental GT stock horns. Last time I checked the cost was about 50 bucks. Even if you've only got room to install just one horn, it's still very much louder than the stock horns. I recently installed one of my horns underneath the front area of the gas tank. Without taking a measurement, it looks like the heil horn may fit.

I installed Hitchcock’s rubber vibration insulators for the meters. They work well the instruments are absolutely steady at 5k rpm.

What symptoms is your original clutch showing ? Mine seems to momentarily slip on gear shifting when I'm flogging it.

from start up stone cold will slip in 1st,2nd,3rd with anything over 2 thousand rpm once warmed its more 2nd,3rd gear around the 2800,3000 mark and corrects itself at 4000rpm. Funny thing if i put it into 5th and drop speed down to 30 km per hour and crack the throttle wide open there is no slip. Oil is right grade and weight. Have actually changed to diesel oil and symptoms have improved a bit.Cable is adjusted correctly, i have even given it major slop so i know its engaged and will still slip. Once i get the new plates, both steel and friction AND the heavy duty springs i'll chuck them in and see what happens.

Perfect man. Didn't think about just stopping it at both sides.
