Bullets up and running, really love the 612 kit.  I have a 21 tooth sprocket and still loads of power off the line.  Having a bitch of a time tuning the MK1.  Any suggestions or how to's?  Any decent replacement for this POS that would be great with the 612?

 Start here
http://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/home  on the left side of the page  go Amal carburettors > hints and tips > Mk1 Concentric > then the tabs of your liking.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

Hey, we had to put up with the Mk1 Concentric too! This bit of brown smelly stuff hit the domestic as well as the export fan.

As some sort of act of contrition the current Amal company has launched the Premier version of the Mk1 with alumin(i)um alloy bodies instead of zinc, hard anodized throttle slides and properly accessible/replaceable pilot jets. Still not enough to win me back, though.

The Mk2 Amal Concentric can be made to work well with the 612 Bullet, I suggest you contact Bullet Whisperer for details as he recently set one up for one of his customers over here. Other than that, and the Mikuni options, the Dell'Orto PHF with the accelerator pump really looks the business (especially with a polished ally bellmouth/trumpet, if your local riding conditions permit), this and the larger PHM version have been used successfully for years on various Ducati models and big european 4 stroke trail bikes.

Grumpy Brit still seeking 500 AVL Bullet perfection! Will let you know if I get anywhere near...

Been thinking about the Mikuni.  Would the 34 be too big for the 612?  I'm central coast cali.  Good dealer to buy from?

34 would be good for a 612, presumably with a head ported for 612.
Ebay is the cheapest and best way to get them.
The jetting will not be correct for you as it comes in the box.
You can get jets from Ebay too, or from most Japan bike dealers.
30 pilot
P6 needle jet
185 or 190 main

Also you need the rubber manifold from the 34mm carb kit that Nfield Gear sells.

The manifold is also available on Ebay.  You can also buy both on Amazon.

And yes, the MKI carb is a pile of crap.  Biggest waste of money I've spent on new parts.
