Yes.  The #530 is the right size chain.

As for the number of links, I'm pretty sure your C5 with the 18" rear wheel uses the 102 link chain.

I know my G5 with the 19" rear wheel has a drive sprocket that is one tooth smaller than the C5 sprocket and it uses a 101 link chain.

That 101 link chain is a bastard size as far as the chain makers are concerned and it needs to have a "half link" installed to get the odd, 101 number of links.

Just to be on the safe side though, count the number of links in your chain.  It goes pretty quickly if you put the motorcycle on its center stand so the rear wheel can rotate and then start counting with the master link being #1. :)

As always Br. Arizoni is right.  It is 530 o-ring with 102 links.

De greasing and painting the master link before installation makes it easy to spot.

Most chains come 120 or 140 links, just lay next to old one, mark length and break chain :)

102 x 530 is spot on. plus I suppose you have the 2" of slack chain measured from the bottom while your bike is on the centre stand.
as for that factory "o" ring chain it can be a hit and miss affair. I had one that bad on a previous c5 that it only lasted 300 miles from new and the links froze in several sections. once off the bike you could hold it vertical and actually make a nice zigzag pattern  ;D.
anyway its worth the upgrade alone to jump to a better quality chain and they appear to run quieter plus it might get rid of the noise you are hearing

Thanks for the guidance. Hope to pick up a 530 X 102 o-ring chain today. For clarification .... My vibration is not a noise but something felt throughout the motorcycle ... primarily at the footpegs.
probably wont come in 102 normal is 120 I think. Count yours before you remove it, then cut yours the same. Don't remove the old chain until you're ready to install the new one, remove the old master link, join your chain to the old chain and let it thread the new chain on for you.

+1 on breaking the chain. I buy the longest 520 "X" ring chain I can when I see them on sale as both my Kawasaki use that size BUT need a different number of links, I just cut it to fit whatever bike I need a chain on at the time.

No one has mentioned it, but does an o ring chain fit on a C5?
I had to go with a heavy duty standard 530 102 link chain on my B5 even with a larger drive sprocket the clearance is small between chain and crank case.

I'm looking at a 520 front sprocket from Hitchcocks and the rear drum and replaceable sprocket from our host. I'll have to buy a 520 rear sprocket and then machine it fit but I have the chains and I can't see a RE ever wearing one out from overpowering it.

Something to think about even if your replacing the RE's O-ring chain with another brand of O-ring chain is, the standard controls the link length, the roller diameter and the roller width.
It does not control the actual outside side to side width or the height of the links.

That could result in a #530 O-ring chain being too tall or too wide for the engine case to clear it.

If the guys who have replaced their O-ring chains with some other brand of O-ring chain successfully would tell us what the part number of the chain was, it would be helpful.

now on two other c5's I did go for an aftermarket upgrade chain and was happy. being in austraia I purchased it from the city importer for the product not a cheap chain and came in at around $150 but good enough to buy twice...lol
chain in question was a Tsubaki Omega 530 102 0-ring with a clip link. not sure about a model number.
would I buy one again. yep!

Bill I have bad news for you. The Tsubaki Omega 530 chain is on close out everywhere I looked for it. I'll see if I can find the replacement for us.

wildbill, have you had any rubbing issues with this chain? Plenty of clearance between chain and crankcase? Thanks in advance.

no I had no issues with it rubbing on the c5 what so ever. I bought this chain in Australia so I could ring the importer but he might think I am after another chain...lol
just leave it a few days as I am not sure if I am selling this bike to buy the lagoon blue unit or not.
if not I will ring the importer anyway and if available buy the chain as it was a pretty good unit plus I'd like a pair of k70's or I might go for the lot - half the time I don't even know what I am doing but within the next few days something gonna happen.....lol
