Anyone else needed more toe room to get their feet in? I have a hard time shifting because my foot is wedged in so tight and I only wear a 10 1/2 boot. I know some of you guys have to have real feet! Is there a way to replace the foot pegs on a C5 or is possible to adjust them?

I raised my shifter a click or two because of the same problem. Now I don't have to dig my toe down so much to get under the shifter.

You can easily cure that problem. Just undo the nuts holding the footpegs on the frame, rotate the footpegs futher back and retighten the nuts. You will be limited on the right side by the kick starter clearance. Also, the right side peg does not have a star pattern for relocating but it works just fine to set it where you want it and just tighten the nut to hold it in place.

You can also adjust the shift lever.  I also installed a heel-toe lever.  My size 9-1/2 left foot was having trouble getting under the shift lever for shifting.

My size 12s have no problems with toe sifting. Good fit for me (2010 G5 Deluxe)

Adjusting the foot peg and or the shifter has cured a few owner's complaints of false neutrals as well. If you start getting false neutrals or other weird shifting remember where you had it set before adjustment.

Interesting .... Am I to take it the foot rubber is on a round bar and easily twisted round so it's level if moving the foot peg a notch forward or back?

Could be time to get the spanners out :)

That was the case for older Bullets.  With the UCE bikes the metal foot peg is triangular in shape as is the mating hole in the rubber.

OK, I rotated the shifter up a spline and it's a bit too much so next I'm going to rotate the peg a spline back and up to see if it helps.

BUT I know what the base problem is. I finally wore out my Sidis after over 150,000 miles and 6 years of hard use. I have a pair of Gaerne G-Midland Boots BUT wearing these around town is like taking a M1A1 Abrams to the store for a paper. So I bought a pair of Cortech Accelerator XC Boots, I didn't need another $350.00-$400.00 pair of boots and at $149.00 these fill the bill nicely.

BUT the toebox is much larger than the Sidis had and that's the main problem. I need to break them in a bit to get a bit of give in them.

If you're looking for a nice lower cost pair of boots check out the Cortech Accelerator XC Boots.

Can the C5 pegs be adjusted, I tried my right one and it has a locating slot so it can't be moved or am I doing it wrong?
also check out Forma adventure boots as well, they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn straight out of the box.

Thanks for the tip on the boots.  I've been thinking about getting a pair of light adventure style or moto cross as my next pair.  My $100 Tour Masters are getting run down.

Scott, I'd say these are more of a heavy duty commuter boots to little ADV boot. Tougher than my Sidi's were but well short of the Gaerne are. But they fill the bill for what I wanted just fine. I have a tendency to over gear at times and while most of the time it doesn't matter there are time when it get's in the way. I have to watch myself like that.

tenacres650. I only tried the left peg and just loosened it and pulled it out to see I could get a bit more room. I didn't do much else to it. I didn't even tighten it up. In fact I need to do so now so I don't ride off tomorrow and have it fall off!

BOOTS don't have to be expensive to do well. About 10 years ago, I bought 3 pairs of size 12.5 East German Army surplus Jackboots @ about $20. then, a pair. They are sturdy black leather wellington type pull ons with smooth composition soles. I like them because they are very sleek & do not have heavy block soles. They are ideal for motorcycling as they aren't bulky enough to get tangled with foot controls, & they have a prominent enough heel to hook over pegs while not being to high to walk on.  Of the 3 pairs, one is still new in the box. The oldest first worn pair I Dedicated to Ural use- as they have gotten oily. The other pair still looks like new after wearing all those years on my oil tight bikes, such as my Enfield G5 deluxe. Keep your eyes open for these boots, definitely old school - but that's good.

Ah, saved me a job. Many thanks.
