Can you use that plug with the stock spark plug wire? All I'm looking to do is to swap the old spark plug for the NGK spark plug using the stock spark plug wire. Is there any real gain using the iridium plug vs the standard plug? I would understand if this was a high performance engine. But is it worth putting the Iridium plug in?
Yes, the BP6ES has a screw-off tip.
Iridium plug is supposed to last longer, and it has a very thin electrode which theoretically might make a less obstructed spark kernel. It depends on if you want to pay nearly $20 for a spark plug, or not.
People were putting them in an attempt to improve the idle stability. If you have a Power Commander, I don't think you need an iridium plug.
